    Laying in the window curtain

    January 20, 2015

I began cutting and sewing together salvaged fabrics for this curtain window today. The sketched image is light now, but it will become more apparent as I start to stitch the drawn lines. I'm attempting to lay in the orientation and scale of the image only, because I'd like to improvise the stitch drawing as much as possible. This piece respresents my memory of a window in my house in the Mojave. The table where I worked was next to this window, and after a while, I was comforted by the view's familiarity.
