Layers of Leftovers, in Repose (2018-ongoing)

This piece began with spray-glued mylar scraps leftover from a fabrication job in the summer of 2017. With those scraps, I created a net, and then made another layer of net with men's pants left over from a different project. It is a physical body—a frankenstein of sorts.

Now each time the piece is shown, I build a new layer with my current "leftovers." It is unwieldy and bears connection to the materials of many projects, often taking time to rest on a folding butterfly chair during exhibitions.

As a gatherer, I have many remnants with no place to live. They carry their stories between artworks and boxes, getting cut up and re-shuffled each time.
